Events BANCROFT
FAMILY CONCERTS
Bancroft Family Concerts feature seven free Saturday afternoon classical
chamber music concerts at the Dallas Museum of Art. The innovative programming
features a variety of styles of classical music. Because the concerts
are one hour in length with no intermission, they offer the perfect occasion
to introduce children to classical music concerts.
BASICALLY BEETHOVEN FESTIVAL
The Basically Beethoven Festival is held every Sunday afternoon in July
in Rosine Hall on the beautiful grounds of the Dallas Arboretum. This
popular, free series offers professional concerts of classical music in
the comfort of an indoor air-conditioned auditorium surrounded by beautiful
gardens. Basically Beethoven is fun and inspirational for the entire family.
COMMUNITY CLASSICS
Fine Arts Chamber Players has responded to the emerging needs of music educators
in area public schools by developing two new pilot programs. The first program
exposes middle school students to professional musicians in a master class
setting so that they may receive the benefits of private instruction and the
inspiration and guidance that role models can provide. The second program fills
a need for music education at the kindergarten level with instrument
demonstration in an interactive classroom setting.
DREAM COLLECTORS
This award winning educational outreach program of FACP combines storytelling and movement with classical and improvisational music. This segment of FACP was conceived by musicians and actors to bring the vitality and excitement of music and theater to audiences with little concert experience. By combining art forms, Dream Collectors performances easily transcend all economic, social, and language barriers. The literary and musical material inspires and motivates students to set goals and introduces imagination and creativity in daily problem solving. Over 160,000 children have seen the Dream Collectors free of charge since the first performance in 1989.
