10th annual Charles Barr Memorial Concert showcases award-winning young cellist Sai Sai Ding

Fine Arts Chamber Players invites you to its FREE Bancroft Family Concert on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Dallas Museum of Art’s Horchow Auditorium featuring young cellist Sai Sai Ding, winner of the prestigious Fort Worth Symphony’s Young Artist competition (2016) and many other accolades. The May 14 concert also features pianist Yurie Iwasaki.

The program includes Cello Sonata in D Major by Pietro Locatelli; Sonata for Cello by George Crumb; and Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 2 in F Major, Op. 99 by Johannes Brahms. The concert, which concludes the 2015 – 2016 concert series, is the 10th annual Charles Barr Memorial Concert. Sponsored by Eric and Catherine Barr, this performance honors the memory of their son Charles, a Dallas-native bassist with the Cleveland Orchestra, who died at the age of 31 in a tragic bicycle accident. The afternoon will include updates on past Barr Memorial Concert performers.

Horchow Auditorium doors open at 2:30 p.m. for the 3 p.m. concert. The museum is located at 1717 N. Harwood Street, Dallas, TX 75201. As always, admission to the concert is free with no reservations or tickets required. For more information, visit www.fineartschamberplayers.org or find Fine Arts Chamber Players on Facebook.
