Note: after a few audience members reporting seeing a security message when accessing Eventbrite, FACP reached out to Eventbrite and was advised this is a message that appears due to safety measures on users’ browsers. There is unfortunately nothing FACP can do as the organizer to prevent this: it happens for many sites. Click here to learn more of the safety measures Eventbrite uses on the platform. Remember, FACP programs are free and you will not be asked to enter any credit card information to register for our events.
Hallam Family Concerts are a free chamber music series on Saturday afternoons from October—May (excluding December). Each concert features local professional performers who play in a wide range of ensembles. Repertoire runs the gamut from Baroque violin to modern percussion.
For the 2021/2022 season, performances will travel around Dallas to best accommodate a moderately size, socially distanced audience. Please consult each concert’s information for the performance location.
This concert series began in 1984 as Bancroft Family Concerts through a partnership with the Dallas Museum of Art. The free admission and daytime timeslot of the concerts were expressly chosen to support FACP’s commitment to provide professional chamber music to those who would not traditionally be able to attend—particularly older adults and families with children. For nearly four decades, the concerts have consistently attracted full-capacity audiences. Musicians frequently include members of the Dallas and Fort Worth symphonies, the Dallas Opera orchestra, other professional ensembles, and faculty members from local universities such as Southern Methodist University and the University of North Texas.
Hallam Concerts are on Saturday afternoons at 3 p.m. and last roughly an hour. They are completely free of charge and open to all ages. Most programs are followed by CODA: a moderated post-performance dialogue with the musicians.
Hallam Family Concerts are generously sponsored by Fanchon and Howard Hallam. We are grateful to them as well as to many others who give of their time and resources to make our concerts a reality. Your contributions help us keep these concerts free for all.
